Liselot obtained her Law Degree at the Catholic University of Leuven in 2004. She continued her studies at the Université Libre de Bruxelles with a master after master Diplôme d’Etudes Spécialisées en droit international des affaires (2005).
As an assistant at the University of Antwerp (2005-2012), she specialized in Private International Law and European and National Procedural Law. She obtained her PhD in 2013 with a thesis on the subject of “The Challenges of (international) European Procedural Law for Belgian Procedural Law”.
Liselot was admitted to the Ghent Bar in October 2012 and worked her first internship year at the Bock & Baluwé at Eke. She was admitted to the Antwerp Bar and joined Verbist & Vanlerberghe Omega Law in September 2013.
Liselot teaches at the University of Antwerp as a visiting professor the Advanced Course on Private International Law (2) and the Advance Course on Procedural Law (2).
Private International Law, European Procedural Law and National Procedural Law constitute therefore the main focus of Liselot’s work domain. This passion is completed with a strong interest for (International) Commercial Law. Liselot has published in each of the mentioned domains.
Liselot is the author, co-author or co-editor of numerous books and articles in legal periodicals on the mentioned domains.
