Valerie studied at KU Leuven, where she obtained her Master’s degree in law in 2013 and her Master’s degree in criminological sciences in 2015. During her Master’s degree in Law, she also studied for a year at the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG). In 2021 she obtained an additional master’s degree in social law at the VUB.
From 2015 to 2019 Valerie was a lawyer at the Bar Association of Limburg in the firm Delbrouck & Daeninck Advocaten. Afterwards, she first worked as a legal advisor before joining the Leuven Institute of Criminology (KU Leuven) as a scientific researcher in October 2020.
In July 2021, Valerie resumed her activities as a lawyer at the Bar Association of Antwerp and joined the firm Verbist & Vanlerberghe – Omega Law.
Valerie is active in the field of criminal law and criminal procedure with a focus on white-collar crime. She also holds a certificate in cassation in criminal cases.
