Stefan Rutten

Lawyer

Stefan Rutten studied law at the University of Antwerp (Lic. Juris – 2000) and participated in the English Legal Methods Summer School of the University of Cambridge (2000).

In 2006 he obtained his doctoral degree (PhD) at the University of Antwerp with a thesis on “Performance of the contract”.

In 2007 he became a lawyer at the Brussels bar within the law firm Linklaters.

In 2013 he joined the law firm Verbist & Vanlerberghe Omega Law in Antwerp.

Stefan focuses on contract law and procedural law.

He combines his practice as a lawyer with an academic career. Since 2007, he is a professor in the areas of civil procedure law, mediation and legal ethics and professional responsibility.

Stefan is author of numerous publications on topics concerning contract law, civil procedure and professional responsibility.
